Northeast Extension Directors Appoint Nancy Bull as Executive Director

Nancy Bull Kingston, Rhode Island – The Northeast Extension Directors (NEED) today announced the three-year, part time appointment of Dr. Nancy Bull as its Executive Director effective January 1.  In her capacity as Executive Director, Dr. Bull will lead the region in the creation of partnerships among the northeast land-grant institutions, focusing on collaboration and funding opportunities for Cooperative Extension.

 

“Dr. Bull’s expertise in strategic planning and implementation will be an asset for the NEED,” said NEED Chair Rick Rhodes. “Her knowledge of all aspects of the university system will prove invaluable.”

 

Dr. Bull previously served as the Associate Director of Connecticut Cooperative Extension and as the Chief Information Officer at the University of Connecticut.  Dr. Bull will continue her tenure as the interim chair and professor in the Department of Allied Health Sciences at UConn.  Dr. Bull received her B.S. and M.Ed. from the University of Cincinnati and the Ph.D. from The Ohio State University.

 

Cooperative Extension is the nationwide educational network dedicated to addressing a wide range of human, plant and animal needs in both rural and urban areas.  On a national level, Dr. Bull will serve with a team of Cooperative Extension executive directors and administrators from across the country assisting in moving the engaged land-grant university system forward.  She is an experienced administrator with expertise in teambuilding, organizational cohesiveness, strategic planning, personnel development and financial management.

 

Dr. Bull follows Linda Kay Benning, who is retiring as the NEED Executive Director.
